Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga County today reported 16 new cases of coronavirus since Monday, bringing the total to 3,937 cases since March.
There were no new deaths from Covid-19 since Monday, according to the county health department website. A total of 205 county residents have died from the virus.
There are 11 Covid-19 patients in local hospitals today. One of the patients is in intensive care, the county reports.
Of the 16 new cases, 10 were attributed to community spread; two occurred in households with previous infections; one was blamed on travel from outside the area; one occurred in a senior living facility; one occurred in a group home; and one was still under investigation.
There are currently 123 active cases of Covid-19 in the county.
According to the state health department, 1.2% of people who received individual diagnostic tests in Onondaga County were positive for the virus during the seven days ending Monday.
