Livingston County coronavirus update: 5 new cases, 27 cases active

Five more Livingston County residents tested positive for COVID-19, according to information shared Tuesday by the Livingston County Health Department.

A man and a woman in their 30s, a man in his 40s, and a man and woman in their 50s make up the new cases. All active cases countywide are recovering in isolation.

As of Tuesday, the Livingston County Health Department has received 7,726 COVID-19 test results. Of those, 198 COVID-19 tests have been confirmed positive, 7,528 tests confirmed negative, 167 of the previously reported confirmed cases have been removed from isolation, 27 cases remain active and four cases have resulted in deaths from complications related to COVID-19. Of those individuals who have tested positive, 32 were asymptomatic at the time of testing.

According to IDPH ZIP code data, as of Tuesday afternoon: Pontiac has had 47 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, Dwight 29 cases, Fairbury 21 cases, Forrest 13 cases, Long Point 12 cases, Cornell 10 cases and Flanagan eight cases.

Streator, which is mostly in La Salle County, has had 261 confirmed cases since the start of the virus’ spread.
