One murder, eight versions.
Apple TV + has a very special party ready for us. And is that the platform has just given the green light to ‘ Afterparty ‘, a new mystery series, with murder included, set in a meeting of former high school classmates that is signed by the famous duo of producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Confirmed for eight episodes, this project has been created by Miller himself, who will also act as showrunner. It is known that the series will tell in each episode what happened on the same night, that of murder, but from the perspective of a different character. For this, each episode will have “its own visual format and a genre of film that matches the personality of the interlocutor” Deadline advances. We understand that each episode will have a different director.
This new television series, of which little else is known, will be produced by Sony Pictures Television – with whom Lord and Miller reached a content production agreement last year – and it’s subsidiary TriStar Television. It certainly sounds most appetizing, coming from those responsible for stories like ‘How I Met Your Mother’.
With no release date yet scheduled, Lord and Miller will most likely combine the development of this series with the MGM adaptation of ‘ The Hail Mary ‘ and ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 ‘, an animated adventure that has its scheduled release in theaters on October 7, 2022.
