An unnamed San Francisco 49ers player who attended player-organized workouts in Nashville has reportedly tested positive for the novel coronavirus, and his teammates are awaiting their own test results.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that after the player tested positive, the rest of the group got tested themselves and are waiting for test results before traveling out of the Nashville area. Garafolo’s NFL Network colleague Tom Pelissero reported the group “includes all the 49ers QBs and many other skill players.”

The 49ers issued a statement announcing they could not comment on the situation, stating, “Federal and state privacy laws prohibit our organization from commenting on the personal health of our employees.”

Earlier in the week, 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel reportedly broke his foot during the Nashville workouts, and his fellow wideout Richie James reportedly suffered a broken wrist. Samuel is expected to “return early in the season,” and James is expected to be evaluated at training camp.
